John and Hallie (Webb) Pollard lived in
the Ash area of Monroe County. John was one of five children born
to J.W and Georgia Anna Pollard of Ash (also Robert, Abner, Dora and
Nannie). Hallie was the daughter of John and Jennie Webb.
John and Hallie married in Monroe
County on April 26, 1903. John was a blacksmith and farmer; in the
1920s, he and Hallie ran the general store in Ash. Their only
child, Clarence Pollard, was also a farmer in Ash and he married Corrine
Huntsman of Cairo. They had four children: Bonnie Mae, Johnny Ben (J.B.),
Juanita and Sharon Sue Pollard.

John and Hallie (Webb) Pollard were still newlyweds when they posed in
front of their new barn, horses, and mule in 1903. The older,
mustached man in the forefront holding the white dog is believed to be
Hallie’s father, John Webb.
