This organization was effected in 1832, Thomas
Maupin and wife, William Maupin and wife, and others, being
the first members. It is located in Clay township, in the
north-western part of the county. Two houses of worship have been
built, both frame, the first in 1846, at a cost of $600, and the
second in 1871, the value of the latter being $2,000.
