Obituary (unknown newspaper)- Sanford Stephens of Duncan's Bridge passed away Friday 
afternoon, July 8, 1966, at 12:20 in Laughlin Hospital, Kirksville, where he had been a patient since 
July 4.  Mr. Stephens was born in Shelby County, the son of John C. and Mary King Stephens on 
February 28, 1888. He was married January 23, 1908, to Miss Dana Mae Jennings who preceded 
him in 1959.  Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Lenora Clupper of Riverside, California and Mrs. 
Juanita Jeffers of Los Angeles, California; three grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.  He 
was preceded by his parents, wife, one brother and two half-sisters.  Funeral services were held 
Tuesday, July 12, 1966, at 2 p.m. at the Greening Funeral Home in Clarence.  Bro. Lyle Armstrong, 
Christian Church minister, officiated.  Interment was in Union Cemetery, south of Clarence.
