Comments: Is near
the edge of some woods in an old pasture area. Tradition – This man was
visiting the William Vandeventer family and died on the place of cholera. The
old log house in which Mr. and Mrs. Vandeventer were shot to death at night is
still on the farm though in a covered up and somewhat dilapidated form. The
first legal hanging in Monroe County was a consequence of this murder.
